How to play Pyramid Solitaire

A round of Pyramid Solitaire at SLTPPF begins with understanding the objective. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. The learning focus here is example-led learning, supported by the rule notes below.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

Example-led learning

Read the worked example, identify its key decision, then look for a comparable decision while you play.

Your goal

Remove all 28 pyramid cards.

Step by step

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown.

A useful example

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy.
